Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association
The chapter unites EMA members from the following countries: EU member states, Albania, Andorra, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey.

Our Goals

  • Provide information and increase support to EM students who are starting the EM programme in Europe;
  • Support Erasmus Mundus students and alumni from European countries or currently residing in Europe;
  • Promote the EMA and the EM programme among European students, universities and in the labour market, in order to raise awareness around the programme in prospective students and employers;
  • Expand the European social, academic and professional networks by cooperating with different student organisations and national contact points.

Chapter Board

President

Ondrej Polisensky  grew up in Kroměříž, Czech Republic. In 2004 he started his university studies at the Palacký University in Olomouc. He studied English and Civics and between 2009 and 2011 Euroculture Erasmus Mundus program. During his studies he spent one year at Goshen College, Indiana, USA, and one semester at University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain. Ondrej became a member of EMA in early 2010. Between 2010 and 2011 he has carried out internships in the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the United Nations office in Vienna. He loves independent modern art and music, travelling, teaching, mountain biking, and surfing.

Vice-President

Alessandra Gallerano from Rome, Italy has graduated from the EM Masters Course “Crossways in European Humanities”, having studied in Scotland, Portugal and France. After a short professional experience at the Erasmus Mundus National Structure in Lisbon, Portugal and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France, she is currently working for an International Development Consulting company based in Rome, being in charge of the preparation and implementation of development projects in the fields of cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, and urban development. She has been active with EMA since 2008, being one of the founding members of the European Chapter.

Network coordinator

Silvia Ceausu is Romanian and a graduate of the Erasmus Mundus Master course in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM). She has worked on environmental policy in Romania, but recently began her PhD studies at the University of Lisbon in Portugal. Her current research is related to biodiversity conservation issues. But she hasn’t forgotten her Erasmus Mundus experience and she works on building a strong EMA community as an active member of the European Chapter. Don’t hesitate to contact her on any networking related topics! 

Promotion coordinator

Edlira Alku from Albania has graduated from the Joint European Master in Comparative Local Development (Germany and Italy) in 2006. She has been working with EMA since its foundation. Edlira now works in England, managing public information programmes in the third sector. She also freelances as an intercultural consultant and trainer. Edlira loves running and cycling and has just discovered the thrill of windsurfing.
