Call for articles and photos
The next theme for EMANATE is "Sports: Bringing People Together". When Pheidippides supposedly ran to death in Ancient Greece, he probably had no idea that 2500 years into the future, people all over the world would be running the same length to commemorate his heroic task - that’s the power of sport! The adrenaline, the sweat, the competition, the pushing of limits, the breathlessness, the cardiac arrests, the pain of losing and the highs of victory, the pride, the team spirit, the endless hours of training, the dehydration, the persistence and the resistance - these could be some of the topics you can write about in the next issue of Emanate.
The next Emanate will be published on the eve of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games! As the Games and sports competitions are also significant cultural events with activities celebrating sports and cultures all over the world, we welcome articles describing such celebrations, volunteering you did for sports events, the encouragement you received from watching these events and the impact these events had on your community. The articles should reflect the idea that the power of sport lies in bringing people together, building unbeatable teams, setting records, learning to respect one's opponents and live with the Olympic Spirit, the spirit of endurance, friendliness and respect!
