EMA Taiwan Network

EMA Taiwan Network announces its upcoming activities and events. All Taiwanese EM students and alumni are invited to join the network!

Dear Fellow Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni,

We are writing to you on behalf of the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) in Taiwan to inform you of some upcoming activities associated with the EMA-Taiwan Network and to invite you to join the network. We believe that the participation and support of alumni and current students are important in promoting the Erasmus Mundus program in Taiwan and in creating valuable networking opportunities for our members.

The objectives of the EMA-Taiwan Network are as follows:

- To promote the EM program in Taiwan
- To promote Taiwan and its students to the EM program
- To network/support Taiwanese EM students/alumni
- To network EM students/alumni with Taiwanese academia and industry

Potential activities that we have planned include alumni reunions in Taiwan and Europe, and creating mutual networking opportunities among individuals working in academia and industry. We also plan to have "open house" discussions between alumni and current/potential students, where the latter can learn about the benefits and experiences of Erasmus Mundus from previous graduates. To help the program better suit future Taiwanese students, the EMA-Taiwan Network will also communicate changing regional educational and industrial needs to the Erasmus Mundus coordinators and the EMA. In addition, since European EM students will now have the opportunity to do a portion of their coursework and/or complete their thesis in a third country, the network will also work to promote Taiwan as a higher education destination to the EM program.

We will hold a welcome event on 6th September 2009 in Taipei . And we will also support the European Higher Education Fair from 7th to 8th November in Taipei. More information will be sent through our Google group soon.
