The European Union Delegation (EUD) in Bangladesh, in collaboration with EMA Bangladesh, successfully organized two "Information Sessions: Erasmus+ Opportunities," on 11 and 26 September 2022 at the American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB) and Rajshahi University (RU), Bangladesh. These were followed by a caravan campaign called "Erasmus+ Roadshow”. Around 350 pre-registered students, graduates, faculty members, and professionals from different industries participated in this event hosted at the AIUB, and more than 300 participants attended the RU Event.
H.E. Mr. Charles Whiteley, Ambassador of the European Union Delegation in Bangladesh, AIUB Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, RU VC Prof. Dr. Gulam Sabbir Sattar and Pro-VC Prof. Dr. Sultan-ul-Islam, EMA President (Ad Interim) Md. Ashiqur Rahman, EMA CR Bangladesh Sayed Muhammad Baker, EUD Programme Manager Ms. Jui Chakma, and Team Leader - Education and Human Development Ms. Jurate Smalskyte partook in these events providing speeches on different perspectives of Erasmus+ opportunities and the national scenarios.
Dr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, EMA President (Ad Interim) gave a presentation called ‘Erasmus+ & perspective of Bangladesh: Greater inclusivity’. EMA Country Rrepresentative for Bangladesh Sayed Muhammad Baker talked on the ‘Guidelines to successful Erasmus+ application: Recent changes’. In his speech, Dr. Ashiqur specifically focused on EMA's global activities as a main European higher education stakeholder and how EMA and EUD collaboration can bring outstanding projects into reality.
The 3-three weeks-long caravan campaign continued to the 13 different universities in Dhaka and Rajshahi division in Bangladesh. The universities that participated in this caravan campaign are Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka, American International University Bangladesh, United International University, Daffodil International University, International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Military Institute of Science and Technology, Bangladesh University of Professionals, Jagannath University, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology, and Rajshahi Medical College.
