​

The EMA Awards returned to the 17th General Assembly in Lisbon. The Erasmus Mundus Association recognised the exceptional career achievements of its members, as well as highlighted and rewarded their outstanding contributions to the community and society.

​

These are the winners of the EMA Awards 2023.

EMA Presidential Awards

The EMA Presidential Award was also presented to individuals who displayed exceptional dedication and significantly contributed to the EMA community in the past year. The awardees are

EMA Presidential Achievement Award

For outstanding contributions in completing Erasmus+ Projects

  • Katharina Heil and Cristina Martinez Tapia for GO-DIJIP

  • Sheenam Jain and Manasseh Anand Makhesh for Accept & Respect

 

EMA Presidential Excellence Award 

For continued outstanding contributions to EMA

All the MB members received recognition for their outstanding contributions and successful mandate completion. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and express our gratitude to everyone who participated.

Application

​

All active EMA members and volunteers are eligible. They can submit their applications to one or more of the following categories to be presented in Lisbon: EMA Cultural Exchange Ambassador Award, EMA Rising Star Award, EMA Ambassador of the Year Award, and EMA Lifetime Achievement Award.

​

Candidates can apply for multiple awards but must complete one application form per award. To be considered, they must:

  • Fill out the application form

  • Upload their CV (max two pages)

  • Upload two recommendation letters (these must have the contact details of the person endorsing their achievements).

Categories

​

EMA Cultural Exchange Ambassador Award

 

This award aims to reward an EMA volunteer or member who has contributed the most to promote cultural exchange and understanding across borders.

 

The application “pitch” shall describe the member’s efforts to promote cultural exchange and understanding and explain why they deserve to be recognised by this award. The career achievements can take different forms, such as excellence, solutions to challenges related to cultural misunderstandings, and proven impact on communities/groups of more than 30 persons, up to 2023. The member shall also present their CV and two (2) letters of recommendation of the community members that benefited from their contribution.

 

All EMA members and volunteers can apply for this award.

 

EMA Rising Star Award

 

This award aims to reward a volunteer or member with three months to one year as part of EMA who has demonstrated exceptional engagement and made outstanding contributions to the EMA community.

 

The application “pitch” shall explain why they deserve to be recognised by this award. They shall describe all their activities since they joined EMA as a volunteer or member. The activities can take different forms, such as excellence, impact on the EMA community, engagement and commitment to EMA, and representation of EMA in relevant events between 2021–2023. The member shall also present their CV and two (2) letters of recommendation from their coordinator(s) and/or current professor(s) of the programme.

 

Only members and volunteers who joined EMA since March 2021 and have carried out activities up to March 2023 can apply for this award.

 

EMA Ambassador of the Year Award

 

This award aims to reward an active EMA Programme or Country Representative who has made innovative and impactful contributions to the Erasmus Mundus community and/or to their EM programme.

 

The application “pitch” shall describe the member’s activities to explain why they deserve to be recognised by this award. They shall describe all the activities undertaken between 2021–2023 to promote their EM Programme and EMA. The activities can take different forms, such as active participation, dissemination of their EM Programme and EMA, engagement and commitment to EMA, and representation of EMA in relevant events. Besides, the member shall also present their CV and two (2) letters of recommendation.

 

Only active Programme or Country Representatives can apply.

 

EMA Lifetime Achievement Award

 

This award aims to celebrate the outstanding achievements of a volunteer or member who has demonstrated exceptional success and achievement in their field and made outstanding contributions to the Erasmus Mundus community for three (3) years or more.

 

The application “pitch” shall describe the member’s achievements in their chosen career or field and their level of importance. Such career achievements can take different forms, such as excellence, outstanding work/research experience, and quality and impact on the community/industry up to 2023. Besides, the member shall also present their CV and two (2) letters of recommendation.

 

Only EMA members and volunteers with over three (3) years in the EMA Community can apply for this award.

 

Evaluation Committee

​

The Evaluation Committee will comprise reviewers consisting of experts including but not limited to former members of the EMA Presidential team, members of another association, Erasmus Mundus Master programme coordinators, and members of an independent international educational institution.
