5 November 2025 - The Erasmus Mundus Students & Alumni Association (EMA AISBL) is proud to highlight the recent outreach initiative led by one of its distinguished senior members, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan, at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, Pakistan. The event, titled “Erasmus Mundus Scholarship – A Life-Changing Journey,” was organized at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and drew a highly engaged audience of undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Rizwan, an Erasmus Mundus alumnus from the 2010 cohort, has held several key leadership roles within the Erasmus Mundus Students & Alumni Association (EMA AISBL) between 2013 and 2016 and continues to remain an active contributor to the Erasmus community. He teaches in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s (EMJM) EMJM iPSRS programme at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne, France. His longstanding commitment to promoting international education, youth empowerment, and academic mobility exemplifies the values that EMA proudly upholds.

During the session, Dr. Rizwan shared insightful reflections on his Erasmus Mundus journey, both as a scholar and as an alumni leader, offering practical guidance on the application process, mobility tracks, scholarship structures, and the transformative learning experiences associated with Erasmus programs. His presentation provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the academic and cultural opportunities that European joint master’s and doctoral programs offer.

The interactive session fostered a dynamic atmosphere where participants explored global learning prospects and the long-term career benefits of international exposure. A particularly meaningful moment came as Dr. Rizwan’s own son, now a student at IBA, attended the event, symbolizing the intergenerational impact of Erasmus Mundus experiences and reinforcing the importance of academic aspiration within families.

This initiative underscores EMA’s global mission to support alumni-led outreach activities that inspire, inform, and empower prospective applicants. The Association remains committed to strengthening its presence across regions, facilitating academic exchange, and highlighting the real-life stories of alumni whose experiences continue to shape educational aspirations worldwide.

EMA extends its appreciation to Dr. Rizwan for his sustained dedication to the Erasmus community and for fostering an environment where students can explore international pathways and broaden their horizons through globally accredited programs.
