On 23 October 2025, the University of Bangui in Central African Republic (CAR) hosted its first Erasmus+ Day.
The event was organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the Central African Republic, the Ministry of Higher Education, and Scientific Research and Technological Innovation of the Central African Republic, with the contribution of the EU Alumni Networks - Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) and African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF).
The Erasmus+ Day brought together, in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere, a diverse and
engaged audience. Among the participants were students, researchers, and management of the University of Bangui and of the selected private universities who exchanged on the themes of academic mobility and international cooperation in higher education.

In total, seven alumni from three continents (Africa, Asia and Europe), representing Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) Degree Programmes, Erasmus+ Doctoral Credit Mobility, and Erasmus+ Researchers’ Mobility, shared their experiences and encouraged new applicants to open themselves to the world through international learning mobility opportunities. The Erasmus+ National Focal Point, Dr Marcel Ounda, has also joined the session.
In a spirit of exchange and enthusiasm, the Erasmus+ Day strengthened ties between the Central African higher education stakeholders and their European counterparts, while highlighting the wide range of opportunities offered by the EU Erasmus+ Programme in educational mobility, traineeships, and capacity building.
