The delegation of the European Union (EU) to Nepal in collaboration with its EU member states, organized the ‘Study in Europe 2023’ fair in Nepal on April 1, 2023, to promote European higher education and scholarship opportunities to Nepalese students. The event was held at Hotel Himalaya and attracted over 500 students interested in European Higher Education..
One of the event's highlights was the Erasmus+ scholarship desk represented by the Erasmus Mundus Alumni network of Nepal. The Erasmus+ programme for Master’s degree is a prestigious scholarship that offers fully-funded opportunities to study at some of the best universities in Europe. To date, about 800 Nepalese students have already benefitted from a life-changing experience through the Erasmus+ scholarship programme. The Erasmus+ desk was represented by former Erasmus+ scholarship recipients who shared their experiences and insights with students. The alumni provided information about the application process, eligibility criteria, and scholarship benefits.
"I had the opportunity to study in Europe through the Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme, which was a life-altering experience for me. I learned so much, not just academically, but also culturally," said one of the alumni volunteers.
The event also featured presentations on higher education opportunities in Europe from representatives of various European states such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria, Finland, Sweden and Romania. Students could learn about different study programmes, exchange opportunities, and scholarship options offered in these countries.
Overall, the Study in Europe 2023 event was a great success, with students gaining valuable information and insights about studying in Europe. The Erasmus Mundus Alumni network of Nepal played an essential role in promoting the Erasmus+ scholarship desk encouraging hundreds of Nepalese students to apply.
