Management Board 2025-2027

The Management Board (MB) oversees EMA's daily management, administration, and representation.

 

In 2019 EMA members voted on updating the initial structure of the Association. Three types of units were formed: Working Units, Administrative Units, & Support Units. Visit EMA's Structure & History page to learn more. Each of these is led by a Unit Director and contributes to the well-functioning of EMA. Apart from the 10 Unit Directors, the President and Vice-President comprise the MB. The President is the primary representative of EMA, in charge of leading the Association internally and externally, and the Vice President is responsible to provide administrative leadership and coordinates administrative and supportive activities of EMA.

 

Disclaimer: The official handover of duties is pending. As of 16 September 2025, the election minutes (from the General Assembly dated 17 May 2025) remain unsigned by the former President, Dr. Md Ashiqur Rahman, the formal registration process has not been initiated, EMA President's official stamp, and access to EMA financial accounts (WISE and PayPal) have not yet been fully and formally handed over by him to the newly elected President. Accordingly, the newly elected President and the Management Board 2025-27 does not assume legal or financial responsibility for acts, omissions, or liabilities arising prior to the completion of the formal official handover.​

Adv. Marvi Qazi

Adv. Marvi Qazi is the current President of the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA).

​

A seasoned legal professional from Pakistan with over 13 years of experience and expertise in international and business law, intellectual property, data privacy, mediation, and financial regulation, Marvi brings a unique blend of academic excellence and practical experience to her roles.

​

She holds an Erasmus Mundus European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) and an MBA in Finance, alongside an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Competition Law from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Munich. A recipient of prestigious scholarships including Erasmus+, DAAD, and MIPLC, she is also a WIPO-Certified Intellectual Property Master Trainer.

​

Marvi’s versatile career spans positions as a Judge in the Courts of Pakistan, a central banker, and legal counsel on cross-border projects. She has advised businesses on intellectual property management and commercialization strategies while navigating complex international legal frameworks. Currently, she is a legal researcher at the European University Institute (EUI) Florence, focusing on Global Digital Governance through Technological Standards.

Prior to being elected EMA President, Marvi served as Director of the Project Support Unit at EMA, where she successfully led multiple Erasmus+ Key Action 1 and 2 projects. Under her leadership, EMA secured its first Key Action 2 project as a Coordinator.

 

As President, she is committed to enhancing the value of the EMA community by expanding EU funding opportunities, fostering meaningful collaborations, and driving innovative initiatives. Her leadership vision emphasizes value creation for all stakeholders, students, alumni, partner institutions, and EU networks, ensuring that EMA’s activities contribute to global connectivity, sustainable impact, and inclusive community building.

Beyond her professional achievements, Marvi is an avid traveler, cultural enthusiast, and advocate for sustainability and legal innovation.

    Anna Janjusevic

    Outreach and Capacity Building Director - Outreach@em-a.eu

    Ana Janjusevic is the current Director of Outreach and Capacity Building.

    ​​

    Ana is from Belgrade, Serbia. She is a multilingual project manager with over seven years of experience in international cooperation, partner relations and project management within the higher education and NGO sectors.

    ​

    She holds two Master's degrees: one in French Language and Civilisation from Serbia, and an Erasmus Mundus Master's in Migration and Intercultural Mediation (MIM), which she completed across Spain, Italy, Tunisia, and France. This distinguished academic background provides her with an excellent understanding of migration issues and international cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region. A native Serbian speaker, Ana is also fluent in French, English, Italian, and Spanish.

    ​

    Throughout her career, Ana has supported a wide range of initiatives in higher education, research, managed Erasmus+ projects, organized international academic events, and provided guidance for student mobility. 

    ​

    Her commitment to promotion of international education was further demonstrated by her involvement with the Erasmus Mundus Association in different roles since 2020, serving as a Project Support Officer (Project Support Unit) and as the Coordinator for the Country Representative Network (CRNet) (Outreach and Capacity Building Unit) for three years.

    ​

    In her role as OCB Unit Director at EMA, Ana is dedicated to: empowering her team to launch promotional activities worldwide, strengthening alumni engagement and professional integration, and boosting the association's overall value and visibility.

    ​

    Beyond her professional life, Ana is fueled by discovering new cultures, petting all the dogs and cats, and trying to make sense of the world's political chaos.

    Soundharya Dharshini

    Talent Management Unit Director - Careers@em-a.eu

    Soundharya Dharshini is the current Director of Talent Management.

    ​

    Soundharya Dharshini is an accomplished Chemical Regulatory Affairs expert from India with over four years of cross-sectoral experience. In her consultancy role in Spain, she leads client projects by delivering product-specific regulatory advice under European and international frameworks. This role has equipped her with strategic expertise in managing large datasets and enhanced her stewardship in ensuring GDPR compliance across complex regulatory environments.

     

    Advancing through the Erasmus Mundus Master’s program in Chemical Innovation and Regulation, Soundharya combines solid academic training with impactful professional experience across Spain, Italy, and Portugal to drive innovation and address complex regulatory challenges.

     

    Alongside her academic journey, Soundharya is deeply committed to volunteering for meaningful impact. Her involvement with the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) began in early 2024, when she co-hosted EMA Days 2024, one of the association’s flagship events, while coordinating a global network of volunteers. Building on her HR volunteer experience in India, she led recruitment campaigns, established strategic partnerships with universities, and launched cross-functional initiatives to foster collaboration and strengthen team cohesion. Through this work, Soundharya has consistently demonstrated strong organizational and people management skills. Her inspiring commitment and ability to mobilize others earned her EMA’s Rising Star Award, recognizing her contributions to community-building and volunteer engagement.

     

    As Director of the Talent Management Unit at EMA, Soundharya brings a visionary, inclusive, and people-centered approach. She is committed to developing systems that enable volunteers to take initiative, collaborate effectively, and support one another in their growth. She is passionate about cultivating inclusive environments where every voice is heard and every individual is empowered to reach their full potential.

     

    Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Soundharya is a nature enthusiast and avid hiker who organizes hikes with people from diverse backgrounds. She is also a dedicated advocate for gender equity, LGBTQI+ rights, and mindful engagement values which she seamlessly integrates into every aspect of her work and life.

    Anmol Singh

    Policy and Quality Assurance Unit Director - Policy-quality@em-a.eu

    Anmol Singh is the current Director of Policy & Quality Assurance.

    ​

    Anmol Singh is a lawyer from India with half a decade of experience in civil, commercial, and arbitration matters. Alongside his legal practice, he has consistently pursued academic and policy interests, leading him to complete an Erasmus Mundus LL.M. in Law and Economics, where he graduated among the top five in a cohort of 73 students.

    ​

    Currently, Anmol serves as a researcher at a government think tank established under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. His work focuses on supporting trade policy formulation through WTO-consistency analyses of unilateral measures, drafting policy briefs, and assisting government officials in free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations. 

    ​

    Anmol's academic and professional journey uniquely equips him for the role of Director of the Policy and Quality Assurance Unit (PQAU). His dual grounding in law and economics enables him to approach policy development through a balanced lens of legal integrity, institutional impact, and efficiency. Having worked at the intersection of government, law, and policy research, he is deeply familiar with issue identification, stakeholder consultation, policy formulation, and implementation cycles - all core components of PQAU’s mandate.

    ​

    As Director, Anmol intends to strengthen PQAU’s role in shaping EMA’s internal governance and external representation through timely and forward-looking policies. He will prioritize policy coherence by initiating cross-unit consultations, foster a data-driven culture for policy monitoring, and ensure inclusive participation through outreach and capacity-building activities.

    Gohar Shoukat, PhD

    Communication and IT  Unit Director - Communications@em-a.eu

    Gohar Shoukat is the current director of Communications and IT.

    ​​

    Gohar is a Software Engineer at a Climate Tech startup in London, UK. He works in the intersection of climate, data and software. He graduated from the EMJMD Program - Renewable Energy in Marine Environment (REM) with a focus on Software Solutions within Climate and Weather. 

     

    Gohar has been an active volunteer within the EMA Pakistan and wants to carry on with his ambition to serve the EMA community on a global scale. As Director CIT, Gohar will focus on enabling the wider Management Board have an impact on their respective areas by establishing processes and systems that maximise the outreach of a volunteer organisation. 

     

    He believes in decentralising decision making, with those on the ground deciding whats the best way to promote the mission of EMA on the ground. To that effect, he will be working very closely with all the volunteers globally to make sure they have the tools and resources to execute on their agendas as per EMA’s mission statement. 

     

    Beyond his professional pursuits, Gohar spends his time playing tennis and refining his crude cooking.

    Mihaela Kafedzhiyska

    Finance Management Unit Director - Finance@em-a.eu

    Mihaela Kafedzhiyska is the current director of Finance Management.

    ​​

    Mihaela Kafedzhiyska is a Business Data Analyst with work experience in Bulgaria, the US, and Germany. She has always worked in international companies focused on developing new technology with less environmental impact and improved working conditions.

    ​

    She earned a double major in Economics and Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria, with a minor in French and Modern Languages and Cultures. During her studies, she volunteered as a Tournament Manager for the Bulgarian-American Speech and Debate Foundation. This year, she completed the Erasmus Mundus European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) while working as a Business Intelligence Analyst at a German startup.

    ​

    As the Finance Management Unit Director, she aims to focus on bringing clarity and innovation to financial governance. The role is an opportunity for her to safeguard and strengthen the values that have shaped the EMA community.

    ​

    Mihaela enjoys planning mountain hikes and meeting locals while traveling across Europe. She is interested in continuous learning and new experiences.

    Rashi Maithul

    Project Support Unit Director - Projects-esaa@em-a.eu

    Rashi Maithul is the current Director of Project Support.

    ​

    Rashi is a strategic marketing and partnerships professional with extensive experience leading international projects across Europe. With an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Tourism Development & Culture (2020-2022) and a track record of working with global tourism brands. Rashi’s professional journey extends across roles in project management, strategic partnerships, and marketing across tourism boards, NGOs, government bodies, and creative industries.

    ​

    Known for her strong leadership, cross-sectoral expertise, and passion for meaningful impact, Rashi has successfully managed EU-funded initiatives and fostered global collaborations that bridge culture, community, and opportunity. Since joining the Project Support Unit in 2020, she has led numerous EMA initiatives focused on capacity-building, strategic communications, and project development. Her ability to connect ideas, people, and resources has been key to the success of diverse projects within the Erasmus Mundus community.

    ​

    As Project Support Director, Rashi is committed to strengthening EMA’s ecosystem by supporting community-led initiatives and promoting sustainable, inclusive project models. She envisions a globally connected EMA community driven by co-creation, purpose, and opportunity.

    ​

    Outside work, Rashi is a storyteller and avid traveler who draws on her global experiences to explore themes of transition, identity, and ambition. Passionate about inclusive mobility, she sees travel as a powerful way to foster empathy, learning, and connection through culture.
