EMA's Presidency

EMA’s presidency is leading the Management Board and the Association, as a team together with the Management Board. More specifically: the President is the primary representative of EMA (Article 18.3 EMA Statute, 2024), in charge of leading the Association internally and externally, and the Vice President is responsible to provide administrative leadership and coordinates administrative and supportive activities of EMA.

President

The President is the primary representative of EMA (Article 18.3, EMA Statute) and is hereby endowed to represent EMA in all respects.

 

The President is responsible for providing strategic leadership and coordinating all activities of the association, as such he/she is accountable to the whole EMA community. 

In consultation with the management board and advisory board, the President sets short and long-term goals to ensure EMA is mission-centred and outcome-oriented. He/she aims to share the vision of the Association with members in order to provide unity within the Association and implement the community needs based on ever-changing circumstances.

Disclaimer: The official handover of duties is pending. As of 16 January 2026, the election minutes (from the General Assembly dated 17 May 2025) remain unsigned by the second signatory (i.e., the Secretary), the formal registration process has not been initiated, access to EMA financial accounts (WISE and PayPal) have not yet been fully and formally handed over by the former President and the Management Board 2023-2025 to the newly elected leadership. EMA's financial accounts remain blocked to this date. Accordingly, the newly elected President and the Management Board 2025-2027 does not assume legal or financial responsibility for acts, omissions, or liabilities arising prior to the completion of the formal official handover.

Vice President

The Vice President is responsible for providing administrative leadership and coordinating administrative and supportive activities of EMA. The Vice President reports to the President.

In consultation with the management board and advisory board, the Vice President sets short and long-term goals for administrative and support units to ensure the EMA is mission-centered and outcome-oriented.

Administrative Assistant

Maria Aliah Reyes is currently serving as the Administrative Assistant at the Erasmus Mundus Students & Alumni Association (EMA AISBL).

 

In this role, she provided general information about EMA, membership, and volunteering, and she direct inquiries to the appropriate contact persons within the association. She is also responsible for disseminating information to all members and volunteers regarding trainings, mentorship, and career growth opportunities, events participation, and attendance.

Executive Assistant Policy

Loc Tao has a strong interdisciplinary background in law, economics, and public policy. His academic interests focus on international taxation, economic regulation, and the interaction between legal frameworks and economic governance.

He is currently working at Deloitte Amsterdam, where he is involved in international and cross-border advisory work. His professional experience complements his academic training, particularly in applying economic and legal analysis to complex regulatory and policy issues.

As a member of the Executive Assistant Policy team, he is committed to supporting the EMA community, by assisting in policy making.
