The agenda for the Online General Assembly on 28 and 29 May 2026 is now published.
The Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA AISBL) is pleased to publish the agenda for the General Assembly 2026, to be held online on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May 2026, from 13:00 to 16:00 CET each day.
Convened in the twentieth year of the Association's history, the General Assembly carries the theme "Reflect, Renew and Rebuild - 20 Years of EMA: past, present, and the architecture of accountability."
Day 1 - Institutional Framing. Day 1 opens with a welcome note from the President, an address by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), and a plenary marking 20 years of EMA. The plenary brings together Dr Leasa Weimer (EMA President 2015-2017), Dr Katharina F. Heil (EMA President 2019-2021), Dr Kateryna Shalayeva (Partnerships and Funding Lead; Eurasia Chapter President), and Felix Kwabena Donkor (Country Representative, Ghana). The session is moderated by Estefania Zarate Angarita (EMA Communications & IT Unit Director 2019-2021).
Day 1 also includes the Financial Report 2025-2026, the audit report covering the last four financial years, and the appointment of an independent statutory auditor.
Day 2 - Deliberation and Decisions. Day 2 places before the membership a sequence of resolutions on the path forward for EMA's governance and on the future structures of the Association - including the establishment of an Advisory Board, an Ethics & Disciplinary Committee, a framework for financial transparency, leadership accountability, and the convening of an Extraordinary General Assembly within sixty to ninety days.
The General Assembly is chaired by Marvi Qazi, President of EMA AISBL, and the Secretary of the General Assembly is Pavan Sriram, EMA President 2017-2019, ESAA Co-Chair and Founding Board Member 2015-2017, and EMA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner (2023).
