The Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) – Philippines, continuing its commitment to spotlight inspiring stories of academic and professional excellence, hosted an engaging webinar on 23 April 2025. This instalment of the EMA Success Story series featured none other than Mr Razy Aman Eddine, whose impressive trajectory as an international lawyer underscores the global impact of Erasmus Mundus programmes.
The event served not only as a celebration of Mr Eddine’s accomplishments but also as a motivational platform for current and prospective Erasmus students. His academic path began with the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD) in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development, a programme he completed with Summa Cum Laude honours in 2023. His studies took him across Europe—from the University of Glasgow, to Université libre de Bruxelles, and IBEI in Barcelona—offering a uniquely rich and diverse legal education.

Mr Eddine’s professional excellence was evident well before his EMJMD journey. He ranked first nationally in Lebanon’s 2021 Bar Exam, and is currently licensed to practise law at the Beirut Bar. His academic and research engagements have extended across institutions in Louvain and Brussels, while his global legal experiences have brought him to Beirut, The Hague, Geneva, Munich, Glasgow, Barcelona, Hamburg, and Hiroshima. These engagements include work with international courts and United Nations bodies, reflecting the breadth of his expertise and the international relevance of his work.
As the current Head of EMA’s Legal and Internal Affairs Unit, Mr Eddine provides governance support and legal guidance to the EMA community. During the webinar, he reflected on how the Erasmus Mundus programme shaped his worldview, honed his legal acumen, and built a lifelong network of peers and professionals.

Importantly, Mr Eddine shared valuable advice for students: remain goal-oriented and purpose-driven, and apply practical techniques like the Pomodoro study method to enhance productivity and focus. He stressed that time management, a clear sense of purpose, and engagement with the Erasmus community are crucial components of academic and professional success.
The session concluded with an open Q&A, where participants expressed admiration for Mr Eddine’s journey and appreciated his transparent, encouraging insights. The event served as a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of the Erasmus Mundus programme—not only in shaping careers but also in nurturing global citizens equipped to address the challenges of our time. This success story echoes EMA’s vision: connecting minds across borders, and empowering individuals to lead change through knowledge, culture, and shared global values.
