Introductory Session with MER2030
On 2 June 2023, the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's in Marine Environment in Resources (MER2030) programme welcomed the newly selected Erasmus Mundus students with an 'Introductory Session 2023'. The event was planned and hosted by Md. Mahamudul Hasan Mredul, EMA Programme Representative of the MER2023 programme. The event aimed to familiarise the new students with the Erasmus Mundus Association and offer a comprehensive guide for administrative procedures throughout the master's programme. The program coordinator, Ionan Marigomez, opened the event and introduced Rajon Bhuiyan, EMA's Director of the Outreach and Capacity Building Unit, who shared his insights with the new cohort. Rajon gave an overview of EMA and its mission and vision and explained the benefits of joining EMA to the new students. Then, Mr Mredul presented his practical tips for the master's programme, covering VISA guidelines, accommodation, and basic transportation and health insurance policies.
EMA Programme Representatives' Monthly Meeting
The EMA's Programme Representatives held their monthly meeting on 15 June 2023, The focus of the meeting was "Horizontal Management: The Key to Effective Team Leadership." The speaker was Mr Collins Santhanasamy, Programme Representative for EMJMDPHID ( Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Public Health in Disasters). An expert in leadership and organisational management explained the concept of horizontal management. Horizontal management emphasises collaboration, shared decision-making, and a flat organisational structure that promotes equal participation from all team members. It has benefits such as better communication, problem-solving, and employee engagement. Participants shared their ideas and experiences on effective team leadership and discussed how horizontal management creates inclusive and productive work culture. The meeting was interactive and successful, with lively discussions and valuable insights.
